Our home theater installers, engineers and technicians are certified Universal Remote, Savant, Crestron and Control4 programmers and are CEDIA certified with memberships to organizations such as HTSA, ASID, CEA, TechHome and ISF.
Joseph Akhtarzad
Joseph Akhtarzad is a 1981 honor graduate of England’s University of Nottingham with a Masters in Electrical and Electronic Engineering which provided him an advantage in jump-starting the business when he relocated from the U.K. to Southern California.
Joseph has led the award-winning Video & Audio Center to be recognized as the very first all-digital, all-touch consumer technology superstore embracing the latest technological advancements in sight, sound and movement including television, streaming audio, mobile devices, wearables and robotics. Joseph’s close relationships with his manufacturers and suppliers have been an integral part of his success.
Video & Audio Center has been globally introducing new technologies for more than 38 years. Joseph and Video & Audio Center have been the first choice of top manufacturers in the world wide electronics industry to introduce and sell the latest technologies.
Joseph’s more than 38 years of experience has earned the company national recognition and numerous awards as the #1 Independent Custom Retailer in California 18 years in a row and #3nationally.

Joseph is active in numerous professional associations including CEDIA, HTSA, ASID and CTA which has cultivated a staff of professionals with the technical knowledge to stay on top of the emerging trends in the industry.
True to his vision, Joseph is extremely optimistic about the future of the industry and looks forward to the challenges ahead as the consumer electronics industry continues to evolve.
